RABIES CLINICS SCHEDULED FOR MAY 19

The Roanoke County Animal Control Department will hold a rabies clinic May 19 at the following times and locations:

Mount Pleasant, 9-10 a.m, Company 6, Jae Valley Road, a half mile east of Roanoke City line; Cave Spring, 11 a.m.-noon, Cave Spring Fire Department, 4212 Old Cave Spring Road (600 feet west of intersection of Virginia 419 and Brambleton Avenue).

Hollins, 1-2 p.m., Hollins Public Safety Building, 7401 Barrens Road (at Barrens Road and Peters Creek Road, opposite Burlington Elementary School); and Fort Lewis, 3-4 p.m., Fort Lewis Public Safety Building, 3915 W. Main St.

Rabies vaccination is mandatory for dogs and cats in Roanoke County, but the clinics are open to anyone wishing to have a pet vaccinated against rabies. Cost of the shot is $5 and will be given by a licensed veterinarian. For further information, call 561-8040.
