BARTER THEATRE TO HOLD TWO YOUTH WORKSHOPS

A beginner's workshop will meet Tuesdays through Fridays from June 19 to July 6, covering fundamentals of acting, relaxation exercises, voice production, improvisation, body movement and mime.

An advanced workshop will meet daily from July 25 to Aug. 10 with the last three days including public performances.

All sessions will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $60 for beginners and $70 for advanced students, plus a $10 insurance fee. Registration deadline is July 20. Participants in the advanced workshop must have completed the beginner's workshop either this year or in a previous season.

"Barter is committed to introducing theatre to young people through our annual theatre workshops and plays for children during the summer at the Playhouse," said Rex Partington, Barter's artistic director and producer.

Children's plays will be performed at the Playhouse starting June 13, Tuesday through Friday at 10 a.m. Admission is $2 or the equivalent in produce in the barter tradition that gave the theatre its name.
