3 FROM NEW RIVER AMONG 16 WILDER EEO APPOINTMENTS

Gov. Douglas Wilder appointed 16 members Thursday to the Virginia Equal Employment Opportunity Council, including three from the New River Valley.

Maple R. Anderson and Judith H. Jones, both of Blacksburg, and Cynthia F. Dodge of Radford will serve on the council, which monitors state agencies' affirmative action plans and practices to assure equal opportunity for employees and job applicants.

Anderson is a Virginia Tech graduate and a research associate for Tech's Center for Volunteer Development.

Dodge, a graduate of the New York University School of Law, is the assistant public defender in the Radford public defenders office.

Jones has degrees from Radford and Tech and is the assistant vice provost of Tech's extension division.
