VA. EDUCATION LECTURE

Secretary of Education for Commonwealth of Virginia James W. Dyke Jr. will be the next speaker in Roanoke College's Public Forum Series. The forum is Thursday at noon at the Patrick Henry Hotel, 617 S. Jefferson St. The cost of the lunch and lecture is $10, and reservations are required by Tuesday.

Dyke's presentation is entitled "Virginia Education in the 1990s: Historical Sketch to Future Vision."

Dyke was appointed Secretary of Education by Governor Wilder in January. Previously, he was a partner with the law firm of Hunton & Williams. He received his bachelor's and law degrees, cum laude, from Howard University. His areas of practice are public finance, health care, legislative counseling and municipal law.
