PATRICK HENRY JUNIOR WINS SCIENCE AWARD

Jamie Turner, a junior from Patrick Henry High and the Governor's School, won the grand award in behavioral sciences Friday at the International Science and Engineering Fair.

Turner represented the Western Region, along with Cass Kastning of Radford High.

The fair traditionally draws about 700 projects from throughout the United States and about a dozen other countries.

Turner, who receives a monetary prize plus national exposure for his winning entry, is the son of Jay and Susie Turner. Jay Turner is chairman of the Roanoke School Board.
