More than 40 people, including a special unit of horseback searchers, looked for the woman on Sunday.
Glen Dorothy Smith, a resident of Shenandoah Acres Adult Home, was last seen just outside the home between 6:45 and 7:10 p.m. Friday, according to Sheriff's Investigator Ronnie Sprinkle.
The Sheriff's Department was called immediately after the woman was discovered missing, Sprinkle said. Deputies searched nearby roads, barns and businesses without success Friday night. They resumed searching Saturday and then called in extra help Sunday, Sprinkle said.
The search went north and south along U.S. 11 for several miles.
Sprinkle said searchers have "just about exhausted" all of the possible places to look near the adult home. It's possible she may have caught a ride along the highway and will turn up sometime this week, Sprinkle said. There is no evidence of foul play so far, he said.
He gave this description of Smith: She is white, about 5-foot-5, 175 pounds, and has salt-and-pepper hair. She was wearing a bluish-gray dress with blue and pink flowers and a large white collar.
