RESIDENT OF ADULT HOME STILL MISSING

Authorities in Botetourt County still have not located a 69-year-old woman who apparently wandered away Friday from a home for adults in the Mill Creek area.

More than 40 people, including a special unit of horseback searchers, looked for the woman on Sunday.

Glen Dorothy Smith, a resident of Shenandoah Acres Adult Home, was last seen just outside the home between 6:45 and 7:10 p.m. Friday, according to Sheriff's Investigator Ronnie Sprinkle.

The Sheriff's Department was called immediately after the woman was discovered missing, Sprinkle said. Deputies searched nearby roads, barns and businesses without success Friday night. They resumed searching Saturday and then called in extra help Sunday, Sprinkle said.

Sprinkle said searchers have "just about exhausted" all of the possible places to look near the adult home.
