CUSTODY-CASE FATHER'S TRUCK STOLEN, BURNED

Police in Prince William County were investigating the theft and arson of a truck owned by Dr. Eric Foretich, a principal in the highly publicized child custody battle with his former wife, Dr. Elizabeth Morgan.

Police spokeswoman Kim Chinn would not say Monday whether the theft and fire were believed to be connected with the custody battle over Foretich's 7-year-old daughter, Hilary.

"We don't know the motive," Chinn said, adding there were no suspects. Police believe arson was involved, Chinn said.

Elaine Mittleman, Foretich's attorney, called Sunday's incident "a very disturbing, frightening thing," but declined to comment further.
