Louise Gains Farrow, age 69, departed this life Monday morning, May 14, 1990, after a long illness. She was born July 4, 1920, in New York City, N.Y. She was the daughter of the late John and Fannie Gains. She was a member of the Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Willing Workers Club. She had also served as Treasurer of the Senior Choir. Her survivors are one daughter, Hattie M. Gains of Christiansburg; two sisters, Laura Totten of Danville; and Mary Hodnett, Bronx, N.Y.; one sister-in-law, Mary Ramsey of Pearisburg; one godson, John Hopkins, Christiansburg; several nieces, nephews and several very special friends. Funeral service will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. from the Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church in Christiansburg with the Rev. Dr. C. L. Brown, Jr., officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 at the church. Burial will be at the Schaeffer Memorial Cemetery in Christiansburg. Claytor-Alexander & Penn Funeral Home, Radford, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
