DUNAGAN CORRALS THREE NEW MAROONS

Roanoke College women's basketball coach Susan Dunagan continued with her plan to keep local talent home by getting commitments from from Cave Spring guard Kay Caldwell and Radford point guard Kristie Workman.

Also committing was 6-foot-1 center Cynthia Strickland from St. Lukes in Greenwich, Conn.

Caldwell, 5-6, averaged 17.7 points with 111 assists and was player of the year in the Roanoke Valley District. She scored 1,073 career points and the Knights finished 66-11 during her three years.

Workman, 5-2, led Timesland in assists with seven per game. During her two years as a starter, Radford was 49-9, won the Group AA title in 1988 and was runner-up in 1989. - Staff report
