WILDER APPOINTS TWO TO BOARD OF HISTORY MUSEUM

Gov. Douglas Wilder on Wednesday filled two vacancies on the natural history museum board.

Among the vacancies was one created when former Gov. Gerald Baliles' press secretary, Christine O. Bridge, declined an appointment to the board of trustees of the Virginia Museum of Natural History on April 20.

Bridge had been named by Baliles late last year, but the appointment was among several hundred that were delayed when the General Assembly failed to confirm them on time.

She said Wednesday she declined the post because she made other commitments during the delay.

Bridge was replaced by Joyce E. Glaise, a Danville City Council member. Wilder also appointed Betty H. Wright of Bassett, a legal secretary active in community affairs.
