NO STORM RELIEF EXPECTED

The $787,900 damage caused by the May 4 tornadoes that killed two people is likely to be insufficient to qualify the area for federal aid.

"We have reviewed the resolutions, and all indications show there is not enough damage to warrant federal funding," Michael J. LaCivita, spokesman for the state Department of Emergency Services, said Tuesday.

Reports fixing Augusta County's tornado damage at $787,900 have been forwarded to the Federal Emergency Management Administration, LaCivita said.
