ROBBER DEMANDING CASH GETS $15 AT STORE

A Southwest Roanoke convenience store was robbed early today by a man who said in a note handed to the clerk that he had a gun.

The robber, who entered the Getty Mart at 2702 Colonial Ave. at 12:19 a.m., made off with only $15, police said.

Police said the man entered the store and said he wanted to play the lottery, but instead handed the clerk a note that said he had a gun and demanded money.
