John O. Boston, age 73, of Roanoke passed away Wednesday morning in a local
nursing home. He was a member of Grandin Court Baptist Church, a veteran of
World War II, a retiree of Goodyear Tire Co. with forty years service and a
member of the American Legion, Woodmen of the World, and the Roanoke YMCA.
Surviving are his wife, Margeree Weddle Boston, six sisters, Eloise B. Wright,
Roanoke; Pearl B. Divers, Front Royal; Lillian B. Brinkman, Bessie B. West,
Dorothy B. Mason, all of Roanoke; Beulah B. Thorson, Virginia Beach; a
brother, Leslie Boston, Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from the
graveside, Evergreen Burial Park, at 1:30 p.m. Friday with Rev. Robert M.
Hamner officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial
contributions be made to the Roanoke YMCA (425 Church Ave., SW, Roanoke, Va.
24016) or the Alzheimer's Disease Roanoke/Salem Chapter, ADRDA (PO Box 5014,
Roanoke, Va. 24012). Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
