REPUBLICANS TO MEET ON PARTY LEADERSHIP

Senior Republican legislators will meet next week to decide what to do about the party's leadership.

Steve Haner, director of the GOP caucus in the General Assembly, confirmed that a meeting of the executive committee of the caucus will be held next week. He would not disclose the location and cautioned against anticipating a public statement following the meeting.

The caucus chairman, Del. Frank Hargrove, R-Hanover, said Wednesday he was in favor of personnel changes within the party's state headquarters.

Virginia Republicans have been faced with a string of financial embarrassments in the past two years.
