GLOVER, JACK E., SR.

Jack E. Glover, Sr., age 67, of Vinton, passed away Thursday, May 17, 1990, in a local hospital. He was a member of the Vinton Baptist Church, Vinton Lodge #204 A.F. & A.M. and Roanoke Scottish Rite Bodies. He was retired from the Appalachian Power Company after 34 years of service and was a Naval Veteran of World War II having served with the Cee Bee's. Surviving are his wife, Hallie Floyd Glover; one son and daughter-in-law, J. E. "Eddie" and Jane R. Glover; two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha (Jackie) G. and Bev Blount, all of Vinton; Wendy G. and Glenn Stanley, Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, J. E. "Eddie" Glover, III, Sarah F. Blount, Laura E. Blount, Kristen L. Morrison, Amy E. Poff and John S. Poff; two brothers, Charles H. Glover, Sr., Vinton; Percy L. Glover, Lynchburg; one sister, Edna G. Stultz, Mechanicsville. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, with the Rev. William E. Hungate and the Rev. Dr. William L. Ross officiating. Burial with Masonic graveside services conducted by Vinton Lodge #204 A.F. & A.M. will be in Mountain View Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Roanoke Memorial Hospital, P.O. Box 13367, Roanoke, Va. 24033. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
