ONE KILLED IN BLAST IN WYTHE COUNTY

An explosion in a trailer in northern Wythe County killed at least one person Saturday morning, authorities said.The blast took place about a 10th of a mile west of U.S. 21 and 52 near the Bland County line, said T.B. Daniels, assistant special agent in charge of general investigations for the State Police in Wytheville.

The trailer was located at the foot of Walker Mountain near camping grounds at Deer Trail Park.

Authorities had not ascertained what caused the blast.

Daniels said State Police special agents were still on the scene late Saturday.

He said it was unclear whether other people had been killed.

The name of the victim was not available late Saturday.
