THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT FESTIVAL

Rules and regulations

No pets will be allowed in Elmwood Park except those involved in Festival activities or those assisting the handicapped.

No glass containers will be allowed in the park.

No skateboards or bikes will be allowed in the park.

Shuttle service

Festival-goers can board Valley Metro buses for free shuttle service to and from the Victory Stadium concert Friday and the river race Saturday.

The shuttle service will leave the parking lot at the corner of Brandon Avenue and 23rd Street, just below the lower level of Towers Mall at 6:30 p.m. Friday, delivering passengers to the stadium on Reserve Avenue. The shuttle service will end at 11:30 p.m.

For Saturday's river race, shuttle service will depart and arrive at the same location and will deliver passengers to Winona Avenue near the former Wasena site of the transportation museum from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Security , major sponsors

Security will be provided throughout the festival, and a special area will be designated for the safety of lost children.

Festival in the Park is a non-profit corporation supported by businesses and individuals. Some of this year's major sponsors include: Contel Cellular, Crestar Bank, Dominion Bank, First Virginia Bank, Lowe's, Miller Brewing Company, Pepsi/Dr. Pepper, Pizza Hut, Sovran Bank, Valley Distributing, Virginia Commission for the Arts, WDBJ-7, WROV-FM/AM, WSET-13, WSLS-10 and WYYD-FM.
