OBIT DAVIS, E.

Ethel Payne Davis, age 97, of Roanoke, died Saturday in a local nursing home. She was the widow of Edward Lee Davis, Sr. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Davis Stockton Jackson. She was a charter member of Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church and was awarded a life membership in the Women of the Church Organization of the Presbyterian Church. Surviving are one son, Edward Lee Davis, Jr. of Midlothian, Va.; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Dr. James A. Allison, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Fair View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church. Friends may call from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Oakey's South Chapel.
