Mr. Emmett W. Semones, age 76, of Hillsville, passed away Saturday morning at Twin County Community Hospital. He was born in West Virginia to the late Stephen Semones and Martha McHone Semones. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Virgie A. Semones. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Homer Austin, Hillsville; two nieces, Mrs. Mary Jane Stammers, Galax; Mrs. Martha Mae Austin, Hillsville; two nephews, Mr. William S. Davis, Woodlawn; Mr. Carl Michael Davis, Hillsville. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hillsville First Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. William Gunter and Dr. William Ross. Burial will be in the Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The body will be placed in the church at 3:00 p.m. Monday where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville is in charge of arrangements.
