TEEN, WOMAN KILLED IN SEPARATE WRECKS

Two people died in separate car accidents in Southwest Virginia on Sunday, state police said.

In Giles County, Michael Grady Morris of Pearisburg was killed two miles west of Pearisburg when the car he was riding in ran off the right shoulder of U.S. 460, then veered back onto the highway and flipped several times.

Morris, 15, a Giles High School sophomore, was dead at the scene. The accident occurred at about 12:30 a.m.

No report on the condition of the driver, Sky Gasper Pratt, was available. State police said Morris was not wearing a seatbelt.

In Washington County, Janie Nadine McClure of Chilhowe was thrown from the car she was driving after it overturned on U.S. 11 just east of Virginia 751.

McClure, 61, was dead at the scene and was not wearing a seatbelt, state police said. The accident occurred at about 3:45 p.m.
