ROANOKER KILLED WHEN TRUCK WRECKS

A Roanoke man died late Sunday night when his pickup truck hit a parked car, veered across a street and struck a tree.

Thurman Udell Cox, 38, of the 1800 block of Westland Road Southwest, was pronounced dead when authorities arrived at Edgewood Street and Windsor Avenue.

Police said Cox was headed north on Edgewood about 11 p.m. when his truck hit a tree at 2601 Windsor. He was not wearing a seat belt.
