ROANOKER KILLED WHEN TRUCK WRECKS

A Roanoke man died late Sunday when his pickup truck hit a parked car, veered across a street and struck a tree.

Thurman Udell Cox, 38, of the 1800 block of Westland Road Southwest, was pronounced dead when authorities arrived at Edgewood Street and Windsor Avenue.

Police said Cox was headed north on Edgewood about 11 p.m. when his truck hit a tree in the 2600 block of Windsor. He was not wearing a seat belt.
