\ COPPER HILL - Houston M. Beckner, age 62, our wonderful husband and father went to be with the Lord on May 21, 1990, in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. He retired from 21 years at Roanoke Iron and Bridge Works and 12 years of excavating and septic system work. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ida King Beckner, Copper Hill; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Beckner, Check; Donald and Becky Beckner, Copper Hill; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Thomas Hale of Charlottesville; Marsha and Bill Brown, Rocky Mount; his mother, Ola Richards Beckner of Callaway; two brothers, Aubrey Beckner, Copper Hill; George Beckner, Callaway; three sisters, Clara Gould of Illinois; Dorothy Clifton, North Carolina; and Louise Ray of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Ricky, Susan, Robin and Katrina Beckner, Scott Hale and Anthony Munsey. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Bible Wesleyan Chapel with the Rev. W. E. Long and the Rev. Steve Dye officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home, Floyd.
