NORTHSIDE, SALEM WIN FCA AWARDS

The Northside and Salem High huddles and their presidents walked off with major honors at the final awards breakfast of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Northside and Salem shared the outstanding huddle award for the Western Virginia chapter, and presidents Tammy Echols of Northside and Blake Owen of Salem shared the outstanding chapter member award.

Plaques also were given to the top members of the 13 chapter huddles. In addition to Echols and Owen, the winners are Lee Childs of Cave Spring, Corie Goin of Glenvar, Tammy Callahan of Lord Botetourt, Ava Riddlebarger of James River, Gerri Stultz of North Cross, Teresa Moore of Patrick Henry, Amy Reed of William Byrd, Scott Harvey of William Fleming, Kevin Greene of Roanoke Valley Christian, Brooke Briscoe of Northside Junior and Andrew Monsour of Roanoke Catholic.

Two special plaques also were presented. Gordon "Rabbit" Peters was honored for his services as the chapter's treasurer, and Rick and Cathy Harman were honored for their services as warmup music leaders during the year.
