\ Mrs. Viola Cofer Schroeder, age 89, of Roanoke, died Wednesday May 23. She was a member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church and the widow of William Henry Schroeder. Surviving are two sons, William H. Schroeder Jr., Houston, Texas.; Robert C. Schroeder, Roanoke; five grandchildren, Mrs. Charles Crane; Miss Cyndee Schroeder; Miss Sally Schroeder, all of Houston, Texas; Miss Mary Schroeder, Alexandria, Va.; Tom Schroeder, Roanoke; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Blount, Richmond; and Mrs. Mary Harris, Raleigh, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with Dr. Carl A. Collins Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 554, Roanoke VA 24003-0554. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
