J. Robert Holcomb, age 62, of 125 Hillcrest Dr., S.W., died Thursday, May 24, 1990, in a Roanoke hospital. He was retired as Office Manager of Rocky Mount for Centel Telephone Company. Mr. Holcomb was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and was Past Master of the Rocky Mount Lodge #201 A.F. & A.M. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nora B. Holcomb; one daughter and son-in-law, Robin H. and Wayne Webb, Rocky Mount; grandson, Cody Webb; one brother and sister-in-law, Claude S. and Becky Holcomb, Roanoke; also surviving are three nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at the Arrington-Bussey Chapel 11:00 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. T. Ivey Adams, Jr., officiating. Interment with graveside rites by Rocky Mount Lodge #201 A.F. & A.M. will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Fork Mountain Rescue Squad, c/o Melvin Holcomb, Rt. 3, Bassett, Va. 24055. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home.
