ROANOKE FIRMS WIN HEALTH AD AWARDS

John Lambert Associates and Edmonds Packett Group both won multiple awards in the 1990 Healthcare Advertising Awards national competition.

John Lambert Associates, a Roanoke marketing communications firm, took 12 awards, more than any other organization nationwide.

Lambert received two gold, two silver and eight merit awards.

Seven of its winning entries were developed for Podiatric Medicine & Foot Surgery of Roanoke. They included newspaper and radio ads.

Other winning entries were for Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Prince William Hospital in Manassas, Erlanger Medical Center in Chattahooga, Tenn., and New Hanover Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, N.C.

Edmonds Packett Group, a Roanoke advertising agency, won four awards. Two were silver and two were merit awards.

Its two silvers were for work on behalf of Roanoke Memorial Hospitals. One was a brochure for the Cancer Center and the other for its monthly publication "Update."

The others were for a television spot for St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond and for a newspaper ad on cosmetic surgery for Tazewell Community Hospital.

There were more than 3,000 entries in the seventh annual competition sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, a national newspaper of health care marketing.
