Winnie Kean Hitt, of Salem, died Thursday. She was the widow of the late Dr. A. M. Hitt of Salem. She was a former member of the Salem Woman's Club, D.A.R. and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Salem. Surviving are one son, A. Milan Hitt, Jr., Salem; granddaughter, Candice Hitt, Richmond; grandson, A. Milan (Chip) Hitt, III, Longwood, Fla. The family wishes that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Salem Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends at their home in Salem. Graveside services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Robert T. Copenhaver Monday, May 28, 1990, at 11:00 a.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem. Arrangements by the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
