Eugene Elwood Robertson, age 62, of Narrows, died Friday, May 25, 1990, in the V.A. Medical Center in Salem, Va. He was born in Narrows, Va., on July 29, 1927, and was the son of the late William Mitchell and Gertrude Mae Robertson. He was a veteran of World War II and was an employee of the Hoechst-Celanese Fiber Company Plant in Narrows for 25 years. He was a barber for 19 years having owned Gene's Barber Shop in Narrows. He is survived by his wife, Janet Bowles Robertson; one son, John Robertson, Pearisburg; five daughters, Mrs. Eva R. Weddle, Roanoke; Carol Vaught, Kay Stewart, Deidri Palmer, and Yvonne Robertson, all of Narrows; one brother, Kenneth Robertson, Dublin; four sisters, Ethel Bond, Hillsville, Va.; Mrs. Genoa Lucas, Mrs. Ruth Martin, and Mrs. Edith Reynolds, all of Narrows; 10 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 28, 1990, at the Riverview Baptist Church at Ripplemead, Va., at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Shahn Wilburn and the Rev. Elmer Clemons officiating. Burial will follow in the Angel's Rest Memorial Gardens, Rt. 1, Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows, Sunday after 2:00 p.m.
