\ Mrs. Loretta Newcomb Humphreys, age 72, of Roanoke, died Saturday evening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex E. (Ed) Humphreys, Jr. and was a life-long member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. She was a former employee of Andrews-Burkett and Co., was a graduate of Roanoke Catholic High School, and attended National Business College. Surviving are two nephews, A. Jackson Newcomb, Jr., Roanoke; Frederick L. Newcomb, Charlotte, N.C.; one niece, Phyllis N. East, Richmond; brother-in-law and wife, William C. and Annette Humphreys, Roanoke; seven great-nephews and great-nieces. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at St. Andrews Catholic Church at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 1990, by the Rev. Don Lemay. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.
