\ CRIPPLE CREEK - The Rev. Fred Soloman Rich, age 74, died Monday evening in the Wythe County Community Hospital. He was a retired Methodist Minister from the Holston Conference, and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gladys Ceary Rich of Cripple Creek; two sons, James David Rich of Donalds, S.C.; Paul Stephen Rich of Ashville, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Sadie Neal of Chesapeake; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Grubb Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Ted Anders, with interment to follow in the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Grubb Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
