$6,900 STOLEN AT RADFORD DELI

Police were looking Tuesday for a group of five or six people who escaped in a blue car after stealing two bank bags containing $6,900 from the Deli Mart on First Street.

Radford Police Chief A.C. Earles said the group entered the store about 9:30 a.m. Monday. While a few of them distracted a store clerk, one person reached over a counter and took the two bags from an open safe.

The suspects were of Spanish or Mexican descent. Police did not have descriptions of the suspects, but a witness said they drove away in a large blue car, Earles said.

Police ask that anyone with any information call Radford's crime line, 731-3627.
