Della Turner, age 89, passed away Tuesday at Twin County Community Hospital in Galax. She was born February 15, 1901 in Carroll County, Va. A daughter of John Wesley Culler and Mary Jane Bowman. She is the widow of Mr. Robert Howard Turner. Surviving are six children, Mr. James E. Turner, Hillsville; Mr. John M. Turner, Vienna, Va.; daughter, Mrs. Dan (Linnie) Pace, Martinsville; Mr. Archie B. Turner, Winston-Salem, N.C.; Mr. Robert L. Turner, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Mr. Harold L. Turner, Richmond, Va.; one brother, Mr. Dalton Culler, Meadows of Dan, Va.; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 1, at 11:00 a.m. at the Stone Mountain Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Turner Cemetery, with the Rev. Clarence Marshall and Rev. Bill Norman, officiating. The body will lie in state one hour before the service. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn-Mcgrady Chapel in Hillsville.
