OPPOSES SOCIAL SECURITY FREEZE

CONGRESSMAN Dan Rostenkowski wants to freeze the Social Security cost-of-living adjustment. Yet Bush can send billions overseas.

I have talked to different voters and we all say "read our lips." We say no. We Americans don't like the attack on Social Security cost-of-living adjustment one little bit.

We don't want new taxes either. If they decide on taxes, let them tax cigarettes and booze. Go up on the rich people who pay no taxes on more than $60,000 or $70,000 a year. MARGARET L. FARRIS SALEM
