ADMIRES NICKENS' ANTI-MERGER STAND

I ADMIRE Harry Nickens for having the courage to take a stand against consolidation. I believe the majority of county citizens oppose consolidation and respect him for standing up to the money and power in downtown Roanoke. He definitely would have my vote should he seek re-election.

We can now sit back and see if the other members of the Board of Supervisors will stand up for county citizens, continue to talk out of both sides of their mouths, or support the interests of the city.

Speaking of politicians, if the recent editorial and the article on your business page are accurate, it seems that Dominion Bank would do well to concentrate on its internal problems instead of trying to push its political interests throughout the Roanoke Valley. CHRIS HURT ROANOKE
