KOLLMORGEN: VICTORY OVER VERNITRON LIKELY

Kollmorgen Corp., owner of three Radford operations, said that the number of proxies received at its annual meeting Thursday indicated a victory over Vernitron Corp. by "a significant margin."

However, final voting results in the proxy fight with Vernitron, a would-be buyer, will not be available for about a week, the Simsbury, Conn. company said.

Earlier Thursday, Vernitron said it believed a majority of Kollmorgen shareholders voted for four and perhaps for all six of Vernitron's nominees for the Kollmorgen board.

Vernitron has been trying to buy Kollmorgen for more than a year and their struggle has resulted in a number of legal actions by both companies.
