Work has begun on an interdenominational chapel at Camp David, the presidential retreat in the Maryland mountains near Washington.

Kenneth H. Plummer Sr. of Chambersburg, Pa., a retired building contractor and United Methodist layman who launched the chapel project, says he hopes the work can be completed near Thanksgiving. - Associated Press
