OBIT--IRVINE, F.

IRVINE, FRANCIS C.\ Francis Coalter Irvine, age 83, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday in a local hospital. He was a retired rate clerk for the Norfolk and Western Freight Traffic Department with over forty years service and later worked for Sears-Roebuck and the J. C. Penny Company. Surviving are his wife of fifty-nine years, Eunice Barger Irvine; a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia Irvine and George B. Newman, Richmond; a brother, Garland Irvine, Stuarts Draft; two granddaughters, Melissa A. Newman, Michelle M. Newman. Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside, Sherwood Memorial Park, at 2:00 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Kelly Dampeer officiating. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
