\ Hudson James Fleshman, age 97, of Monroe and formerly of Blue Ridge, died Saturday in a Lynchburg hospital. He was a son of the late Willie James Fleshman and Alice Ferguson Fleshman. He was the widower of Elizabeth Farrar Fleshman. Mr. Fleshman was a retired section foreman with the N & W Railroad, a member of Villamont Presbyterian Church, and the Vinton Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 204. He was preceded in death by a son, Buford Thomas Fleshman. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Robert (Louise) Burford, Monroe; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Hamlett, Phoenix, Va.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Diuguid's Rivermont Chapel with the Rev. Dewey V. Page officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Monelison Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 56, Madison Heights, Va., 24572.
