Elva Whitenack Carr, age 89, died Sunday, June 3, 1990 in a local nursing home. She was a member of First Church of the Brethren, a retired seamstress from Loebl Dye Works and Cleaners. She was predeceased by her husband, Isaac M. Carr; two sons, Harry E. Carr; and M. C. Carr, Jr.; one daughter, Redell Carr Bryant. She is survived by four daughters, and two sons-in-law, Vera Carr Thomas; Mary Carr Miller; Bobbie and John Ellis; Elizabeth (Liz) and Clifton Clark; daughter in law, Kathy J. Carr, all of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, J. W. (BIll) Thomas, Jr.; Harry E. (Eddie) Carr; Robert (Bob) Clifton Clark; Debbie C. Meacham; Cynthia E. Clark; Janet L. Carr; Rebecca D. Clark; one great-granddaughter, Laura Lee Clark. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel, 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 1990 with the Rev. Paul E. Alwine and the Rev. J. Landon Maddex, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends after 12:00 noon Tuesday.
