Ruby Norcross Jarvis, age 57, died Monday, June 4, 1990 in Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was born on October 8, 1932 in Rockbridge County and was the daughter of Willie Elizabeth Berry Norcross, Lexington; and the late Lyle Colmore Norcross. She was a member of Timber Ridge A.R.P. Church. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Paul P. Jarvis, Lexington; three daughters, Diane O'Bryant, Andersonville; Alice Mutispaugh, Buena Vista, Va.; and Jane Swartz, Lexington; two sons, Steve Jarvis, Fairfield; and Gregory Jarvis, Lexington; six sisters, Elizabeth Houser and Betty Painter, both of Staunton; Artie Black and Carol Moore, both of Lexington; Mary Jarvis, Harrisonburg; Emma Shelton, Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, Mitchell Norcross, Richmond; Douglas Norcross, Waynesboro; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from Timber Ridge A.R.P. Church with the Rev. Robert Gordon and the Rev. William McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to: Timber Ridge A.R.P. Church. the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrison Funeral Home.
