PROGRAMS AIM TO HELP ARTHRITIS SUFFERERS

A series of programs designed to enhance the care and improve the lifestyles of people who suffer from arthritis will begin at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

Led by health-care professionals, the series of educational programs will be held each Tuesday from 8-10 a.m. for seven weeks.

Each program features a discussion and group exercise. There is no charge and everyone is welcome.

The following topics will be discussed: today - "Exercise: Principles and Types," June 12 - "Medications," June 19 - "Pain Management Techniques," June 26 - "Diet and Arthritis: Update on Recommendations," July 3 - "Diagnostic Studies: X-Rays, Bone Densitometry Screening and Laboratory Tests," July 10 - "Communication With Your Doctor," July 17 - "Joint Protection."

People participating in the exercise program of each session will need a physician's written approval.
