REZONING DRAMA IN FRANKLIN

IF THE CITIZENS of Franklin County want to see a live play, I suggest they attend a few board of supervisors meetings.

Members of my family, some neighbors and I attended one such meeting May 21 to oppose rezoning of land in the Hodgesville section for a sheet-metal shop. The pros and cons were heard and the supervisors' vote tied 3-3 with one abstaining.

The play really got interesting after that. Mike Brooks asked why there was opposition from three of the members. It appears to me he thinks he's king of the roost. I think not. He had no right to question or belittle any member of that board.

A list of 50 names was turned in to the supervisors from the Hodgesville area against this rezoning.

I think when the curtain falls on the last act of this play, Brooks needs just tobow out. His integrity is in question, and I think the voters will remember this next Election Day. VIRGINIA D. HODGES ROCKY MOUNT
