HUMBERT HONORED BY GARDEN CLUB FEDERATION

The 1990 Presidential Citation was presented to Louise S. Humbert by the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs at the recent state convention in Abingdon for her outstanding work with their World Gardening Committee Project. Humbert is state chairwoman of the federation and a member of the Arboretum Garden Club of Blacksburg.

Through the work of the World Gardening Committee, 116 federated garden clubs in Virginia donated $1,500 this year to the National Arbor Day Foundation, which will use the money for tree planting in an effort to minimize the greenhouse effect.

This work will be continued for one more year.
