James Dallas Tolbert, Sr., age 55, of Roanoke, died Tuesday evening. Surviving are his former wife, Jean H. Rager, Roanoke; four sons, James D. Tolbert, Jr., Roanoke; Charles T. Tolbert, Richmond; Robert N. Tolbert, John E. Tolbert, both of Chesapeake; a brother, Emmett R. Tolbert, Roanoke; four sisters, Jeanette DeLoach, Hollywood, Fla.; Alice Goad, Rachel Chronister, Bonnie Hardy, all of Roanoke; 10 grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at Franklin Memorial Park, 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 8, 1990 with Rev. Jeff Gardner officiating. Friends may call at Lotz Roanoke Chapel 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. Thursday.
