William Henry Duff, age 77, died Wednesday, June 6, 1990, in the Roanoke Memorial Cancer Center. Mr. Duff was born January 18, 1913, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late William Joshua Duff and Polina Catherine Cash Duff. He was a member of the High Bridge Presbyterian Church and was retired from Burlington Industries with 41 years service. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carmen Alford Duff; two daughters, Mrs. Polina Bowers, Vinton; Mrs. Brenda Varley, Florida; three sons, Gene Duff, Lexington; William Duff, Maryland; Eddie Duff, Vinton; six sisters, Mary Milliner, Roanoke; Lou Duff, Annie Blackburn, Miriah Duff, Irene Fix, and Mae Staton, all of Buena Vista; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 8, 1990, at the High Bridge Presbyterian Church, officiated by Chaplain R.K. Wilson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Buchanan Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
