SECOND-GRADER WINS REGIONAL JUDO TOURNEY

Adam Furrow, a second-grader at Roanoke Catholic School, took several titles in the Tri-State Judo Championship, held recently in Fort Detrick, Md.

Furrow, who represented the Roanoke YMCA Judo Club, took first place in the 8-and-under lightweight and middleweight divisions. He also was chosen outstanding junior competitor from among the 130 participants.
