INDUSTRIAL PARK WILL OPEN CHILD CARE

Plans are being made to build a $400,000 child-care center in the Carroll County Industrial Park, apparently the first such Virginia center to be placed in an industrial park.

Preliminary approval has been received for a $125,000 low-interest Appalachian Regional Commission loan. Sara Lee Knit Products is providing $150,000, with the rest coming from the county.

Sara Lee employees will get priority in placing children at the center, which will accommodate up to 96 children up to age 12. The center will be managed by the Tri-Area Office on Youth.

Construction is expected to start this summer and could be complete in the fall.
