EXECUTIVES ON LOAN TO BRISTOL CHAMBER

Businesses in the Bristol area support their chamber of commerce by loaning their executives to the chamber staff.

The most recent is Michael R. Hilton, loaned to the Greater Bristol Area Chamber of Commerce for six months by SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, where he is public relations and communications director.

His employer will continue paying his salary while he works in the areas of community and economic development, particularly promoting the growth of existing Bristol industries. He will survey local industries and match them with others that can use their products.

Hilton is the fourth executive to be loaned to the chamber in recent years. The last one before Hilton was Lamar Wright of Unisys, which closed its Bristol operation several years ago. Wright stayed with the chamber for 33 months, leaving in March.
